.haven't you heard.

.about the bird?.

slacking on posting lately - i know.

some adorable bird pictures from when i was snowed in over christmas. just stole my dad's amazing lens (so much better than mine!) and went to town. i think the little guy in the image above is posing to look like the image on the feeder.

i think i watched the birds feasting at the feeder for several hours. very relaxing. the lighting wasn't great, and they're all through the window, but i still love the cute shots!

.cheers.

.love.

.this past weekend was the first weekend i have been home in cambridge for over a month.

how sad is that?

this whirlwind january (first the aha conference in nyc, and then the aia/apa conference in philly) has been exhausting, and makes me want to go back to christmas.

because i'm lazy and tired, i'm just going to post some christmas goodies here. stay tuned, because i've been checking things off my 101 in 1001 list, and will have some new posts coming shortly.

i miss my kitty

good thing they don't frequent this blog. or they would kill me

the lovely lorentz ladies

for some reason i just love this picture. i think it's because the dogs just look hilarious. maybe it's my grandpa in his old santa costume. not sure

alissssa. our worldly, travelled cousin.

and my favorite for last. grandpa looks so grumpy in this picture. but he's not. i think he may have just been falling backwards.

and i don't think i've seen grandma smile this much in a long time.

love

.cheers.

.yikes.

.why i miss california.

j and i were going to go out to a nice dinner tonight, but i think it is much too cold for that. 9 degrees currently. brrr. it makes my lungs and nostrils actually freeze.

.cheers.

.hum.

.there's a low of one degree tonight in cambridge.

...brrr...

i'm looking at pictures from the holiday in seattle, and found these pictures of this little guy. the lighting was really poor, so you can't see his beautiful green and red feathers, but i just love these pictures.

just hanging out. drinking from the hummingbird feeder. no big deal.

i spent a lot of this day while i was home inside (when i wasn't out frolicking in the snow, that is), taking pictures of the birds that came to feast at our feeder. i'll post some more later, but i think this guy was my favorite (it may be a female, i'm not sure. but i like calling him a little guy).

.cheers.

.salt.

.greg nickels must read my blog.

apparently, seattle realizes that they effed up big time with the snow, and will now be using salt during snow storms. i probably could have told them that months ago, but oh well.

it dumped snow on us here yesterday (i can't escape it!). and you know what? the roads were never once not driveable. not. once. perfectly clear, with maybe just a hint of slush, which is normal.

some pictures in between flurries

look at that beautiful, non-rutted street. and this is just about as back road, side-street as you can get. and still perfectly driveable.

no 'packed snow' policy or ruts here.

way to get on that, seattle.

.cheers.
