.whoops.

.slacking on the blog posts lately.

unfortunately, with j's departure to dc for the summer, he took along my only means of loading my pictures from my 20d onto my laptop. whoops. so now i have all these pictures that need to be loaded (and blogged about) that are stuck in limbo on my card.

oh well.

i went to dc last weekend to visit j, and got to experience some of the memorial day festivities (hello, rolling thunder!). other than that, not too much new here. my peas are a little out of control, and there are actually some peas forming! so i need to blog about that.

this last pea picture was taken with my little point and shoot

and i'll leave you with another lovely blossom shot.

.honeymoon.

.no, not mine, silly.

the beer. this beer. blue moon brewing company's summer ale.

as most people probably know, i am obsessed with love blue moon's regular belgian white. so amazing. so i thought that i would love their honeymoon even more. because, i mean, c'mon - honey? fabulous.

the first time i tried this beer, i hated it. i thought it was far too sweet, and the flavors didn't seem to meld well together.

now that i've had a few more, it has grown on me. it's still a bit sweet, but it is citrusy and light - perfect for a summer day. the hops are pretty weak, but what do i know about hops?

definitely not as good as the regular blue moon, but it will do for these ridiculously hot, humid boston summers.

sigh.

.cheese.

.i love cheese.

and lately i have been getting the urge to try lots of different kinds. i walked up to pemberton farms the other day to see what amazing produce etc. they have, and i spent quite a while just wandering around in there, looking at all of their plants, peeking through the spices. and then i came upon the cheese aisle. and you know what i found?

.this.

beecher's cheese
. for those of you who don't know, beecher's is a fabulous cheese shop that's located in pike place market in seattle. i have no idea why this tiny little place in cambridge carries cheese from a tiny little place in seattle, but it made me so happy at the prospect of how small of a world this is, i just had to buy it.

definitely not as good as when i get it fresh from the market, but still. tastes like home.

.jet set.

.i have been so blessed with the amount of traveling that i have been able to do in my life.

unfortunately, i am a travel whore, and all i can think about right now is traveling to amazing, exotic places with my camera in tow.

and reading this blog does not help things. i am jealous of people who get to travel often for their work. and by travel, i don't mean attend conferences. conferences are fun, but it's not travel - you just sit in a massive room all day, surrounded by classicists and historians.

anyway, she is talking about how she is going to visit a country starting with every letter of the alphabet by the time she is 30. i thought that sounded awesome. unfortunately, i do not travel nearly as much as she does. but, anyway, perhaps i can do it by the time i'm 50 - who knows? although 'x' will never happen, unless some new countries come along soon.

here's my list thus far:

a -
b -
c - canada
d - denmark
e - equador, england
f - france
g - germany
h -
i - ireland, italy
j -
k -
l -
m - mexico
n - netherlands
o -
p - portugal
q -
r -
s - scotland, sweden, switzerland, spain
t -
u - united states
v - vatican city
w -
x -
y -
z -

apparently i like the beginning of the alphabet best. and 's.' lots of 's.' my list really does look pitiful when compared to hers, but oh well. i'll get there. hopefully.

14 to go - woo hoo!

.cheers.
