.so, i woke up at 5:30am (yeah time difference!) to this.


well, technically not to this. when i woke up, it was just beginning to snow, and it was very dark. i love waking up really really early on my vacation. awesome.

actually, no, i am glad i woke up early, because i got to sit and read the paper and watch it snow.

i love snow!


well, i love seattle snow. which is nice and pretty and stays in the streets and sidewalks and i don't need to trudge to work through it.

it's so funny, though. boston is so blase about snow. when it snows, it's essentially off the roads and sidewalks within an hour - the snow plows are ridiculous! the system in place for snow is very meticulous. here, there is no system. sue and i went for a walk at 7, and there were trucks sliding all over the place. no chains. no anything on the tires. very humorous; i'm glad i wasn't out there driving.

by the way, if you click on this picture, it will enlarge it, and in the top right corner, you can see a perfect little snowflake! i just noticed that as i was looking at the picture.

although now i'm really sad that i can't go to trophy for the christmas cupcakes i wanted. sad times.

our backyard looks a bit boring in this picture. oh well. you can't really tell, but there's about an inch and a half of snow there. and it's still coming down.

off to enjoy the snow!
