You know all of those gorgeous, dreamy bridal party shots with perfect symmetry? Yeah. Those. Those were a problem for us.
You see, Mr. CA has two brothers (one of which is the Best Man), and four very close friends from high school. Those boys are essentially a unit - you have one, you get them all. So, if all my mathematics learning nonsense serves me correctly, that is a total of six groomsmen.
I, on the other hand, have a sister (MOH Granny Smith), two BFFs since Kindergarten and third-Grade respectively, and my "twin cousin" who was born a day after me (both blonde, both got dressed in matching outfits basically through adolescence. she was the cuter one, though). Again, if my math serves me well here, that would equal, oh, four. Four bridesmaids.
Six and Four? Definitely does not fit the whole bridesmaids-and-groomsmen-symmetry thing that you see in all of those dreamy, perfect wedding pictures. Nope. Even the addition of our little Ring Bearer and Junior BM (that's right, we're not having a flower girl!) doesn't even things out - just rounds the numbers out to a ripe seven to five.
We honestly debated about this. Do we need to whittle things down to even numbers? Should I add people on? It was seriously a source of stress....
...for about eight seconds. Why did we even fret over something like this, Hive? Honestly, our people are our people. Those are my girls - the ones I want standing up next to me when I say those two huge words, the ones who have been there by my side every single time I have needed them, and even when I haven't. We've laughed, cried, fought, hugged, been through break-ups and new relationships. Why the hell would I do anything differently?
And I could never ask Mr. CA to do anything differently either - those are his boys!

So yes, we have uneven BM/ GMs and I don't give a hoot! I love that we're both having "our people" standing up with us at the altar. And, we're going to have rockin' pictures, symmetry or no.
Did you have even numbers of BMs & GMs, or did you go the non-symmetrical route? Were there any issues with this?
