Today, I was waiting at the crosswalk to get to campus. There is another crosswalk right next to it, and I saw an old, homeless man pushing a shopping-cart full of cans approach the other crosswalk on the other side, waiting as well. We were standing there for a while, and finally a car stopped for me... but right in front of my crosswalk. He didn't even acknowledge the homeless man, just went right through that crosswalk and stopped next to me. It made me feel really bad, and I wanted to yell at the cars. Did they even see him? Sometimes I really think about our society, and it makes me sad.
